Ya I guess when you say the water pump is always pulling
the water down, that makes sense. I wasn't thinking about
that, just the water pushing through the thermostat.
Another thing I could never quite understand (the reason) is
how the coolant return pipe from the heater core (& turbo's etc) is at the bottom of the thermostat housing. Doesn't that
mean, all that heated coolant is just sucked right back
down to the pump and back into the block?I also wondered, you said you completely blocked the
upper pipe return opening, does that mean when your thermo
is closed there is absolutely no circulation in the system?
